Be a fragrance of Christ.
Have you ever experienced identifying the person by the smell of his or her perfume? Or probably you could smell the person from afar as the person approaches nearer to you “Oh she is here.I can smell her perfume”. How nice if someone can identify you and tells you that you smell like Jesus. I would take it as a compliment, that we are carrying the aroma of Christ everywhere with us like St Paul wrote to the Corinthians (2 Cor 2 : 14-16) “ But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one fragrance from death to death to the other a fragrance from life to life.
Though we can be broken and wounded at times, going through trials and tribulations, let us remember that the kingdom of God is in our midst and among us. Like Jesus had taught us the Lord’s prayer
“Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”
Let us be obedient to His will and not to our will in spreading the fragrance of Christ to all who we encounter today. Let us bring the aroma of Christ to others in the midst of their darkness, in the midst of their sickness, in the midst of their trials, in the midst of their hopelessness, during the current pandemic situation. Let us be aware that Christ is in our midst in everything we do, not for our own glory but for His glory so that whoever that we speak to and encounter today will encounter His fragrance through us.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, let us be your vessel of fragrance to others who we encounter in our daily life. Let us remove the stench of pride and ego, stench of selfishness, stench of bitterness and unforgiveness, stench of unkindness but rather put on your fragrance of Love and Gentleness to all who we encounter today, so that Your light will shine upon them and they too will spread your fragrance to others. In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
