Readings for the day 每日读经:

John 5:1-3,5-16

In the Gospel, Jesus, the source of life, brings healing to the sick man at the pool of Bethesda. This man had been ill for 38 years and remained in this condition because others continually overtook him. Disappointed and disheartened, he stayed in his comfort zone, failing to take the next step.

“Do you want to be made well?” Jesus asked. “Stand up, take your mat, and walk.”

I believe we shouldn’t just sit around and do nothing while watching others overtake us. Instead, we should seek help from God. Although we may not suffer as much as the man in the passage, Jesus is always ready to heal our pain, whether physical or emotional. He is there to care for us and help us in our time of need. All we have to do is trust in Him and allow God to take control. That is something we should all practice.
Take a moment in prayer to ask the Lord: ‘What are You revealing to me through this Gospel?’ Be open to His voice and allow His Word to transform your heart.
